===== Great America Concessions =====

I was wondering if any VSAs are available on a Friday in May to help SFSU VSA fundraise at Great America.  The shift is 10am-6pm and you're basically working at concession stands.  Great America has special events where companies can rent out the park for the day, and they would have employees come in and work the buffet session (what we'll be doing).  So we'll be preparing food, and manning the food stations.  It's super easy!!!

What's in it for you?  Each member that your VSA brings will be paid (what is min wage now?) per hour, and once they send us the checks, we will send it to you, and you can have your members sign off their individual check to your VSA!!! I think minimum wage now is $6.50? or is it 7?  Anyways, each member of your VSA will get a check from $45-50

What's in it for us?  For each person that joins our group for the fundraiser event, Great America will give us one ticket for the park to go any day during the year that the park operates.  So what we are doing for our VSA as well, is as an incentive for the members to fundraise for us, they get to keep what money they make that day and we will sell the tickets that Great America will give us.  We're aiming to get atleast 20 people out, and currently, general admission for Great America is $40, so we'll sell the tickets at a muuuuuch cheaper price.  The proceeds that we get will go towards helping sustain our VSA and donating to organizations such as VOICE or whatever comes up.

If you and/or your VSA is interested in participating, please reply to me by FRIDAY APRIL 25TH and let me know which dates you prefer and how many people you can bring.  This is a great way to fundraise AAAANDDD.. at the end of the shift, we can hang out at the park FOR FREE until it closes, which is like, 8pm i think...  SOUNDS FUN HUh?.. because it issss!!!! =D

Also -- anyone that wants to go to this fundraiser must be able to legally work in the U.S.  They'll need to see your paperwork okie?.. please speak to your VSA about it and let me know asap.  Thank you so much and hope to hear from everyone soon!!! =D

===== Stadium Concessions =====

I'm not sure who to address this to, so i'm sending it to you both.  But i think this program right here would be an AMAZING fundraising opportunity for UVSA.  Do you guys have a fundraiser chair or something that would want to look into this?  The program is an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to be able to team up with Centerplate to work at the Stadiums on certain game days for the Giants and 49ers.  They give you a bunch of dates in advane, you commit to which games you can go to and on that day, show up and work.  The work ranges from selling beer at a beer stand (which rakes is HELLAH TIPS!!) to selling diner food in one of their diners.  The group gets 6-7% of the total of the group's sales for the day.  An average sale day for an average game is about $10,000 (so you get 600-700 of that!!! cool huh?)

Anyways, I wanted to do this for our VSA, but since we are not a non-profit organization, we can't sign up for it.  (atleast i don't think we're non profit?)... shrugs.. anywhom.. I was wondering if UVSA would be an umbrella for us and participate in this program.  Then maybe UVSA can give the games to the VSAs to attend to VSAs under the umbrella can fundraise =D.  And on top of that, if you guys do have a fundraiser vp, maybe he/she can plan  UVSA-wide fundraisers to these games and make LOTS OF MONEY that can go to helping with VOICE and stuff!!!

Let me know what you think okie?  It's really a great opportunity and it's super easy.  I've been working with this program (with Alpha Phi Omega) since 2003 and from experience, it is an opportunity wayyyy too good to miss.  Anyways, please please please reconsider this email!!!! and hope to hear from you guys soon!!!  The current season just started, so we have a lot of games that we can still participate in this summer, and then when fall comes, IT'S FOOOTBALL TIME!! hahha.. and you get to meet the players too!! and the cheerleaders!! lol =D
