Participant Parameters

  • 8 teams (8 schools)
  • There are 6 people per team, and it doesn’t matter whether it is they are guys or girls.

Rules and Procedures

  • There will be 2 games running concurrently.
  • There will be two camps, with 4 teams in each camp. Each team will play the other teams in their camp. For example:
    • Camp A: Cal, SJSU, Mission, De Anza
    • Camp B: UOP, SFSU, Davis, Hayward
  • For the first round, each camp will run the games as follows:
    • There will be a total of 6 matches. For example in Camp A: Cal vs SJSU, then Mission vs De Anza. If SJSU won and Mission won, then SJSU vs Mission, then Cal vs De Anza. Next it will be SJSU vs De Anza, and Cal vs Mission.
    • For each match, the winner get 3 points, and the losing team gets 1 point.
    • The top two scoring teams in each camp for the first round will go to the second round.
  • For the second round, the game will run as follows:
    • The top scoring team from each camp will compete first. Then the second-top scoring team from teach camp will compete.
    • The winner from the top scoring team match will take first place, the loser taking second place. The winner from the second-top scoring team match will take third place, and the loser takes fourth place.
  • Your school will randomly be assigned to a camp by picking numbers out of a hat. Camp A: 1,2,3,4. Camp B: 5,6,7,8.
  1. 15 points per volleyball match, roundly. This means you will get point and or give a point to the opposing team no matter if it’s your serve or not.
  2. If you touch the net, the opposing team is given a point.
  3. No saving ball by use of the leg (international rule).
  4. The ball is only allowed to be touched by your hands and arms. No head, shoulder, chest or any other part on your body.
  5. The volleyball can only be touched 3 times at one side, more than that the opposing team gets a point.
  6. When serving, the person has to stand behind the border.
  7. You can still save the ball even when it’s outside the border, as long as it doesn’t pass to other side of the net.

Inventory Needs

  • (2) Volleyballs
  • (2) Volleyball nets with poles
  • (2) Volleyball marker strings
