Bridging the Generation Gap

  • Feb 2008: ICC decides to engage seniors in the community following the Youth Forum, in which a letter was sent accusing UVSA of standing against the community, being ignorant, and civically naive.
  • Be careful of those who will attempt to chụp mũ (accuse recklessly) us, as Minh T. Nguyen has experienced (2006 Jan 25).
  • Letter to My Children and Grandchildren by Nguyễn Văn Phú (Vietnam Review) - English and Vietnamese

Goal

  • Reconcile misunderstandings between seniors and youths.

Suggestions

  1. Listen to them first.
  2. Recite what they say and clarify everything.
  3. Ask them if they are willing to listen to us.
  4. Say what we want to say.
  5. Ask them to recite back to us what we said.
